and i thought that we here in sweden had the hardest weapon laws! – i have a torch like that, but with sharp spikes at the end of it, and that is legal here, (assisted knifes too) but of course should be kept under your jacket – Levi

i got a real story for you we use to watch the house over the street when they where a way and if there alarm when of we would go in and switch it off but my mum never when in alone in case there was someone in there and you cant keep calling the police for force alarms so lets say i went in there with baton and hit someone would that be self defence or premeditated offence i say it should be self defence because i had no chose to go in at that time or the peeper will keep going off but if the law say different this is where it needs to change yes a torch is the best bet if it dark at the mo some really good one work in day

Yes in the UK it's pretty much illegal to defend yourself with any weapon. In the UK knives and guns are considered so dangerous only criminals can own them

Is it the same with shop keepers. Today two armed robbers came into the shop one with an axe and another with a gun (couldn't tell if real or fake) but turned out it was fake and they used the axe and my uncle is ok just a few cuts on his and back. He used a small metal stick which didn't do much. Any advice you can give? Thank you.

Can't wait to upgrade my existing G2 Nitrolon with the Solarforce metal bezel which has a crenellated 'tooth' on it. I discreetly carry my defensive flashlight in 24/7 proposition, should the need arise.

And in all honesty, it looks robust enough to use as a hand weapon if needs must

In the US, we can attach a "torch" to our tactical HK USP .45 acp handgun. It feels good to be a citizen rather than a subject of a monarchy. Sorry britbongs.

I've even heard of confiscation of sub 3" non locking knives, either the cops don't know what's actually written in the law book or they are just pushing home the zero tolerance aspect.
